The visa exemption for citizens of Philippines

Two memorandum between Vietnam and Philippines was signed to tie the relationship betwen two countries. The first memorandum between two goverments was signed on January 20th 1997 and took effects on February 19th 1997. The first memorandum covered the following cases:
 

- Diplomatic passport holders receive visa exemption for a period not exceeding 30 days. The duration may be extended as official requirements.
 

- Members of diplomatic missions, consular offices, and international organizations (including family members) carrying diplomatic passports, will be offered a visa exemption for a period not exceeding 30 days. During that time, they have to make necessary procedures at the competent agencies of host country. The entry of these people must be notified through diplomatic channels.

 

The visa exemption for citizens of Philippines

 

The second memorandum on December 17th 1998 between these two countries took effectson February 16th 1999. This memorandum includes these following basic contents:

 

- Exemption of visa is granted for official passport holders with a period not exceeding 30 days. The duration may be extended by the request of diplomatic missions, consular offices.

 

- Members of diplomatic missions, consular offices, and international organizations (including family members) carrying diplomatic passports, will be offered a visa exemption for a period not exceeding 30 days. During that time, they have to make necessary procedures at the competent agencies of the host country.

 

- Visa exemption is issued to citizens who hold ordinary passports work at ASEAN Secretariat and attend the ASEAN activities. The maximum duration of temporary stay is 15 days;

 

- Visa exemption is granted for ordinary passport holders invited by ASEAN or ASEAN Secretariat offices, government organizations. The maximum duration of temporary stay is 15 days.

 

- Visa exemption is offered to ordinary passport holders with a period not exceeding 21 days if they meet these following requirements: their passports are valid for at least 6 months, and they have round-trip tickets or tickets to go to other countries.
